Aaa-a-a-ah...Aaa-a-a-ah VERSE 2 If I could visit anyplace I’d like to go out into space I’d be so high...beyond the sky I could run with Taurus and be friends with Gemini Aaa-a-a-ah...Aaa-a-a-ah... Aaa-a-a-ah...Aaa-a-a-ah BRIDGE It’s funny how your mind can take you ‘round the bend Go back in time or ride a rainbow to the end SOLO VERSE 3 I want to stay………Above the fray And find the magic part of each and every day Aaa-a-a-ah...Aaa-a-a-ah... Aaa-a-a-ah...Aaa-a-a-ah CODA Ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba Ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba...

VERSE 1 She comes into town… she’s a pure delight and a source of chatter She wanders around… and she has a smile for the ones around her She lives in a dream… she’ll just close her eyes and go there To blow off some steam… or to say a prayer, she’s a girl from somewhere VERSE 2 She’ll walk through the park… just to feel the sun and enjoy the flowers Sometimes on a lark… she will climb a tree and just stay for hours Her head’s in the clouds… her face is alight with wonder She draws in the crowds…… but she is unaware, she’s a girl from somewhere BRIDGE 1 She doesn’t see… the high degree Of joy she brings…when she comes here to do her thing VERSE 3 She’s charming and cool… her expression’s bright and her eyes are winking She’s nobody’s fool… and she won’t reveal what she’s really thinking She comes and she goes… like a wisp of fog or a bolt of lightning But nobody knows… when she’ll next be there, she’s a girl from somewhere BRIDGE 2 Maybe she’ll find… she leaves behind An empty space… in our hearts that we can’t erase VERSE 4 When she goes away… she is on the minds of the congregation We hope she will stay… but she doesn’t linger in one location She glows from within… can’t help but attract attention She rides on the wind… she’s not ours to share, she’s a girl from somewhere CODA Na-na-na-na-na... na-na-na-na-na

VERSE 1 A child’s adventures make a memory What we did then, it shapes us all I hope that you remember happiness And that you smile when you recall VERSE 2 Riding bikes up and down the street Playing baseball all day long Tadpoles swimming up and down the creek with our nets and jars, we couldn’t go wrong BRIDGE 1 September’s here, we’re going back to school It’s time for books, not time for fun It’s hard to learn when daydreams overrule The bell goes off and victory’s won VERSE 3 There’s lots of hills all through our neighborhood The sledding’s great when we have snow Mom’s hot chocolate’s gonna do us good After all the snowballs we’re gonna throw BRIDGE 2 Spring is here, and school is winding down Kids are restless ‘cause summer’s near Our music teacher sings us one more song She says goodbye and see you next year VERSE 4 A child’s adventures make a memory What we did then, it shapes us all I hope that you remember happiness And that you smile when you recall

VERSE 1 Took the bus to Birmingham All I own in my two hands Wrinkled pants and crumbled plans Exhaust fumes seepin’ in Watched the sun rise and shine Passed by fields of wheat and rye Half asleep by the mornin’ light They seemed to be waving goodbye VERSE 2 Caught a train to Texarkan Didn’t fit in Alabam Got myself into a jam Whiskey shots kickin’ in Watched the lights goin’ out Woke up in the county jail Judge said “son, get outta town” Left the court house waving goodbye BRIDGE 1 Far off in the distance I can hear that whistle blow Shrill and sweet, across a watery field If only for a moment all my troubles seem to fade Then just like that, they all come back to me Back to me SOLO VERSE 3 Got a ride to Wichita Texarkan was loose and raw Ran afoul of the local law Vagrancy is frowned upon Couldn’t find a place to be Boarding houses don’t come free Jobs are few and far between Gotta pack again and wave goodbye BRIDGE 2 Gotta hit the road again and find somewhere else to go Someday soon, my wandrin’ needs to end I wanna sit, close my eyes, and wake up from this dream But all that mess keeps comin’ back to me Back to me OUTRO Lyin’ in a cell again, pretending to be asleep Wonderin’ how and why I’m here, it all comes, it all comes back to me

VERSE 1 What do I see every time I think of you Visions appear, and they come out of the blue Here’s just one thing that I hope will offer a clue CHORUS 1 It’s how you hold your ice cream cone… With some chocolate on your cheek, and your smile so big and wide… It takes me for a ride, the way you hold your ice cream cone VERSE 2 It’s so elusive, how thoughts choose to arrive Scenes and emotions can flash in overdrive My dreams of you are the things that keep me alive CHORUS 2 It’s how you love to dance and sing As you move around the house, either bubblegum or soul Minuet or rock and roll, it’s how you love to dance and sing BRIDGE I think of you from the start of every day Dreams do come true if we don’t wish them away SOLO VERSE 3 People may say that my stargazing is strange But my sensations aren’t possible to arrange Here’s one more thing that I pray you’ll never change CHORUS 3 It’s how you’re always by my side When we’re riding in the car or walkin’ ‘round the town You turn me all around, it’s how you’re always by my side CODA / CHORUS REPRISE It’s how you hold your ice cream cone… With some chocolate on your cheek, and your smile so big and wide… It cannot be denied, it’s how you hold your ice cream cone

about

This is my first full-length album of originals, and it turned out to be a family affair. My sister Teri Pierce, niece Alyssa Blevins, and daughter Jillian Browning sang background vocals on five of the 10 songs, and my wife Janine sang a duet with me on another. My grand-niece, Abigail Blevins, even greets the listener on (It's How You Hold Your) Ice Cream Cone, a kind of an homage to The Trader by The Beach Boys.

about

Mike Browning Southport, North Carolina

Imagine working most of your adult life as nothing more

yourself in a community college classroom, led by one of
your musical heroes. That happened to me, after I ran into
Jamie Hoover of the Spongetones at a Dairy Queen. His generosity in sharing his vast knowledge of studio techniques with me has led me to releasing my very first EP.
