This was released as a single in March of 2021. It's loosely based on how my wife and I met at a New Year's Eve party and then didn't have our first date for nearly six months. We might have never seen each other again if it hadn't been for her friend, with whom I met up for a college business fraternity event during the intervening time. This mix is slightly different from the single mix.
lyrics
CHORUS
Another bite at the apple, is my new priority
Another taste, no time to waste, a fresh opportunity
Another bite at the apple, take advantage of that break
Another goal to be tackled, it’s a step I have to take
VERSE 1
New Year’s Eve, I don’t believe, the ball had fallen down
A girl walks in, and I begin, to check her all around
Eyes on the clock, we start to talk, begin to play our game
The ball ends its slide, she slips outside, I didn’t get her name
CHORUS
Another bite at the apple, is my new priority
Another taste, no time to waste, a fresh opportunity
Another bite at the apple, take advantage of that break
Another goal to be tackled, it’s a step I have to take
BRIDGE
I thought that things were going well, but now I’m thunderstruck
I have to go and find that girl, it’s gonna take some luck
SOLO
VERSE 2
A friendly date, from across the state, I met her for a dance
She had a friend, with time to spend, did I want to take a chance
I called her up, we had a cup, and just to simplify
She was the one, the mystery’s done, she’s the apple of my eye
CHORUS
Another bite at the apple, is my new priority
Another taste, no time to waste, a fresh opportunity
Another bite at the apple, take advantage of that break
Another goal to be tackled, it’s a step I have to take
CODA
Another dream to be tackled, it’s a chance I had to take

yourself in a community college classroom, led by one of
your musical heroes. That happened to me, after I ran into
Jamie Hoover of the Spongetones at a Dairy Queen. His generosity in sharing his vast knowledge of studio techniques with me has led me to releasing my very first EP....more
