This one is a bit different for me, a more ska-influenced song. This one had been sitting around as an instrumental track for a while, and when I lifted one of my songs from this album to contribute it to a soon-to-be released compilation called Pop Aid on Kool Kat Musik (to benefit Ukrainian relief efforts), I needed a tenth song to finish the album. The lyrics started as a word salad that just sounded right with the melody, but they were kind of fun. I got my wife, Janine, to sing this one with me.
lyrics
VERSE 1
When I feel, like I can close the deal, I wanna dance all night
It’s unreal, not on an even keel, it’s gonna feel alright
CHORUS
There’s no time to go and wait in line, I need to jump right in
Play that tune, we’re going to the moon, I wanna bump and spin
Rattle the crowd, say it aloud
I gotta shake it
VERSE 2
Lookin’ high and low, no time to say hello, I gotta make the scene
Crowd will grow into an overflow, no room for in between
CHORUS 2
There’s no time to go and wait in line, I need to jump right in
Play that tune, we’re going to the moon, I wanna bump and spin
Rattle the crowd, say it aloud
I gotta shake it, I gotta shake it
Say it to me, set yourself free
I’m gonna make it
BRIDGE
Raise the floor, we’re gonna shake and yell
But read my hips, I never shake and tell
This time is yours, and this time is mine
Until we come across the finish line
VERSE 3
Yeah, I feel free, just like a honey bee, I wanna to buzz around
Turn that key, it’s on the third degree, not in the lost and found
CHORUS 3
There’s no time to go and wait in line, I need to jump right in
Play that tune, we’re going to the moon, I wanna bump and spin
Rattle the crowd, say it aloud
I gotta shake it, I gotta shake it
Say it to me, set yourself free
I’m gonna make it
SOLO
CHORUS 4
There’s no time to go and wait in line, I need to jump right in
Play that tune, we’re going to the moon, I wanna bump and spin
Rattle the crowd, say it out loud
I gotta shake it, I gotta shake it
Say it to me, set yourself free
I’m gonna make it
CODA
I gotta shake it, I gotta shake it, I gotta shake it
I'm gonna make it, I'm gonna make it, I'm gonna make it
Imagine working most of your adult life as nothing more

your musical heroes. That happened to me, after I ran into
Jamie Hoover of the Spongetones at a Dairy Queen. His generosity in sharing his vast knowledge of studio techniques with me has led me to releasing my very first EP....more
